Vegetation:ericaceGUS scrub on rocky slopes.
Shrub, 1.5-2 m,bulky lignotuber; young flush foliage purplish pink,
erect, mature leaves coriaceous, mid- to dark green above, paler below;
calyces pale green, coroJiSP pink, style dark red. Locally common on
rocky slopes and in open y paramo.
