Floodplain of Pine River, just below the old railroad tracks
(now a hiking trail). Edge of marsh with Phalaris
arundinacea, Ulmus americana, Alnus incana ssp. rugosa,
Corylus americana, Acer negundo.
Tree, 15 m. tall, this trunk 17 cm. in diameter, the other two
trunks similar, the species gets much larger here. Voucher
for wood specimen, MADw; this same individual collected
on 11 April 2014 with flowers (monoecious) from another
trunk under no. 60981. Leaves much lighter beneath except
for some young ones on vigorous growth.
