Forest of Tilia americana, Carya ovata, C. cordiformis,
Celtis occidentalis, Quercus alba, Fraxinus americana.
Shrub 2 m. tall, edge of forest and road. Flowers musty
fragrant, like some white-flowered Rosaceae. These
flowering specimens bear a resemblance in leaves and color
and presentation of the flowers (but not with the delightful
sweet fragrance!) to Calycophyllum multiflorum of the dry
chaco forests of southern Bolivia.
