Forest of Tilia americana, Carya ovata, C. cordiformis, Celtis occidentalis, Quercus alba, Fraxinus americana. Shrub 2 m. tall, edge of forest and road. Flowers musty fragrant, like some white-flowered Rosaceae. These flowering specimens bear a resemblance in leaves and color and presentation of the flowers (but not with the delightful sweet fragrance!) to Calycophyllum multiflorum of the dry chaco forests of southern Bolivia.
