Pastured floodplain forest, Acer saccharinum,
A. negundo, Quercus elllpsoidalis, Q. macro-
carpa Salix nigra, Fraxinus pennsylvanica,
Populus tremuloides, young Ulmus americana.
Tree 50 cm. in diameter. Twigs with rank
smell when scraped. Flower buds and flowers
red. Wood from a large branch; sapwood and
heartwood pale, the same color. Voucher for
wood specimen, MADw 46578.
