de los Colorados, Kms 32-38. Steep slopes, montane
cloud forest. Elev. 2200-2700 m.
Terrestrial or epiphytic shrub with branches arching
1 to 2.5 m. Leaves glossy, dark green above, light
green beneath; floral bracts dark red; rhachis,
pedicels & calyx green heavily suffused with red;
lower 3/4 of corolla bright red, upper 1/4 pale green;
fruits turning dark blue-black. Style & stamens appressed
to the upper portion of corolla. Abundant. N.V.:
