    Slopes along Bronx River, this one near bottom of slope, below the Magnolia collection, with Phellodendron amurense, Quercus rubra, Acer rubrum.

  • Description

    Native tree 12 m tall, 20 cm in diameter, branched just above the base; bark smooth, gray. Inflorescence hanging, yellow-green with brown on tips of bracts, not yet in full bloom. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
