    Montane cloud forest. Quercus copeyensis, Q. seemannii. Gregarious. On soil.

  • Description

    Pileus 3-4.5 cm broad, plane, dry, gray brown (6E5-4), erect tomentose on disc, matted tomentose to finely squamulose areolate toward margin. Flesh white, up to 1 cm thick, with heavy spermatic/farinaceous odor and taste. Lamellae decurrent, close, white soon with a pinkish cast, rarely intervenose, with even, non-marginate edges. Stipe 1.5-3 cm long, 5-9 mm broad, equal, slightly curved, silky shiny fibrillose to subcanescent, white over a pale watery gray ground, white at base; interior as in pileus.
