Cirsium horridalum Michx.

Florida, franklin Co.: 3*6 miles w. of
Apalachicola. In deep sandy loam soil
along wet drainage. Specimens are late
basal shoots; main stem dead. Abundant.
Stems to 1 meter tall; young plants with
leaves to 5 dm. long; corollas purple;
filaments about same length as anthers;
marginal cilia on phyllaries very short
for tnis species.
