RICHLAND COUNTY: Rays bright yellow; stems stiffly erect,
the plants solidly rooted, difficult to extract with roots without
using a digger; sandy open, roadside, a large population of
probably several hundred individuals; north side of SC 48 (Bluff
Road), 7.15 miles southeast of 1-77 (southeast side of Columbia)
and 0.35 miles northwest of Lower Richland Blvd (Sec Hwy 37),
33.8782°N, 80.9012°W; elev. 128'.
