Guyana. Along the banks of Cara Creek and small islands in creek, south of Camp 4. Tributary of Kako River, near border with Venezuela.

Habitat
Islands formed from gravel bars, prone to scouring, rich in herbs and shrubs. Rock substrate of pink sandstone and red chert.

Description
Shrub to 0.5 m. Plant glabrous. Inflor/infructescence terminal, paniculate. Calyx green, corolla pink. Berries green, turning light purple. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
