Description
Pileus 5 cm broad, convex, dry, dark brown and coarsely verrucose on disc, raspberry red and finely imbricate to squamulose scaly toward and at margin, with sterile margin. Flesh yellow, quickly cyanescent. Tubes adnexed, bright yellow, immediately cyanescent, pores likewise. Stipe 5 x 1 cm, equal with a slightly bulbous base, dry, finely appressed fibrillose, white with a red zone at apex, white at base, with interior white, brownish orange on exposure especially at base.
