Putnam County: Along Florida road 26, 1/4 mile from Putnam Hall. Very abundant throughout a large old field. Plants forming large dense clumps with 30 or more flowering culms. Some associates: Agalinis fasciculata, Opun-tia humifusa, Galactla elliottii, Euthamia-minor, Paronychia, Crotonopsis, Eupatorium spp. and others.
