Hab. :Prov. Peravia, Los Arroyos, 18 km N of
San José de Ocoa, pasture, alt. 1300 ra.

Herb, growing in dense clumps, to 3 m tall,
bracts waxy, brown, petals pinkish, stami-
nodes 4, stamen, and style orange-red, lip
idem, spotted with yellow at the base.
