Basally branched large srub/small tree, largest trunk 30ft tall, trunk diameter 18in, occasional. Growing in dry white & yellow sand in somewhat disturbed scrub and sandhill vegetation. With Asimina obovata, Bidens alba, Bumelia tenax, Chionanthus pygmaeus, Chrysopsis scabrella, Eupatorium capillifolium, Ilex ambigua, I. opaca, Lantana camara, Opuntia humifusa, Palafoxia feayi, Pinus clausa, Pteridium aquilinum, Quercus chapmanii, Q. geminata, Q.
inopina, Q. myrtifolia, Rhus copallina, Rhynchelytrum repens, Sabal etonia, Smilax sp. and Vit is rotundifolia. To the W side of Rt. 27, just E. of a radio tower, 0.7mi S. of the intersection with Rt. 17-North (to Frostproof). Polk Co.
