  • Habitat

The species is very rare in the agricultural plain along the higway from Santa Cruz to Montero to Buena Vista and to Río Ichilo at Cochabamba border on new higway to Cochabamba, Only this and perhaps a couple smaller colonies have been noticed in 10 years of botanizing in this region (but it is also present E of General Saavedra in Prov. Santiesteban).

One large colony, with ca. 100 stems, only some of them blooming, to 3.5 m tall. This colony probably is of recent origin; this is the first time I have noticed it.
