Habitat
Clearing on east-facing slope in mixed-conifer forest with Quercus gambelii, Abies, Prunus, Rosa, Symphoricarpos, Hymenopappus, Penstemon. A patch of about 20 plants.

Description
Perennial herb from woody rootstock to 0.3 m tall; petals white, purple spots on inner surface of keel; calyx white, fuzzy, inflated; visited by Bombus. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
