  • Habitat

    In fire breaks and in scrub. Sand pine-xerophytic oak scrub, with some sandhill taxa. Dominant associates include: Pinus clausa, Quercus geminata, Quercus myrtifolia, Quercus chapmanii, Lyonia ferruginea, Persea humilis, Osmanthus americana, Asimina obovata, Ilex opaca var. arenicola, Serenoa repens. Deep well drained sand.

  • Description

    Locally common shrub, to 1 m. tall; ca. 200 plants, virgate, branches erect to spreading. Corolla lavender, shading to white in throat, with purple spots; abaxial surface of upper lip darker lavender. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
