Along perennial stream. In pine-oak woodland with Quercus sp., Cupressus arizonica, Pinus ponderosa, Pinus cembroides, Vitis. Abundant in main arroyo.

shrub to small tree, to over 25 ft. high. Shrub to small tree, sometimes exceeding 25 ft., much branched at base. Extending from at least 1500 m. up to 2100 m. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
