  • Description

    Clumps to 12m tall; the culms erect, arching at the tip, with a layer of soft gelatin-like substance inside at maturity; new culms dull green, covered with fine white appressed hairs. Spines at lower nodes few, simple, lacking above. Nodes with white band beneath. Branches flowering, but many new shoots and new leaves also present.

(igapo), the culms erect, arching at the tip, with a
layer of soft gelatin-like substance inside at
maturity; new culms dull green, covered with fine white
appressed hairs. Spines at lower nodes few, simple,
lacking above. Nodes vith white band beneath. Branches
flowering, but many new shoots and new leaves also pre-
