Podoshevka River; near abandoned fish hatchery. Collected along stream on lichen
covered trees (Salix sp.); moss covered rocks; under Sasa and other herbaceous
vegetation (Petasites). 45°15'54"N 147°55'35"E Elev: undetermined
5 to 7m tall. Stem diameter ca. 15cm., thorns on stem ca. 1cm; Fide Ohwi, Flora of
Japan
