  • Habitat

    Open, somewhat recently (a few years) cutover bottomland hardwood forest with tree regrowth up to 30 ft. tall. Growing with Liquidambar styraciflua, Platanus occidentalis, Acer rubrum, Celtis laevigata, Ilex decidua, Berchemia scandens, Ampelopsis arborea, Rubus spp., Solidago altissima, Eupatorium serotinum, Conoclinium coelestinum, Boehmeria cylindrica, etc.

    Scattered. Plants rhizomatous, forming colonies. Fresh ray flowers white, disk flowers yellow.
