Lagarto y Guacimal. 10 km west of Santa Elena on road
to Inter-American Hwy. Pacific slope moist forest
fragments.

Treelet, 6 m, secondary forest/edge. Mostly leafless
and flushing a few new leaves while flowering.
Flowers male, yellow-green with organge nectar disk,
24 stamens, no fruit set, mild sweet odor. Branched
spines on trunk.
