    This area was under several feet of water in superstorm Sandy on the date of 29 October 2012. The plants on this day are in ground level planter beds planted with native perennial species such as Ilex glabra, Nyssa sylvatica, Diervilla lonicera, Prunus maritima, Echinacea. The beds also included the usual compliment of urban weeds including Lactuca serriola, Taraxacum officinale, Chenopodium album, Medicago lupulina, Melilotus albus, Solanum carolinianum, Eleusine indica, Chamaesyce maculata and many others.
