HABITAT: Cultivated in school compound
DESCRIPTION: A small tree branching from
the base 4 m. Bark brown; spines greyish-
brown. Sterns /succulent glossy green. Leaves
succulent^gtVen above, lighter beneath.
Sepals green with a pinkish tinge at the
apex. Petals orange 6 cm across which emits
a sticky juice. Anthers cream; filaments
red; stigma cream; style magenta. Fruit a
berry 5 t Ai cm.; glossy green turning
yellow when ripe with an acid pulp. Seed
brownish black with a sticky yellowish pulp*
