of the Rock River, 0.1 - 0.4 mile south of the junction
with Mud Creek (Mt. Morris) Road. Slopes south of
Mud Creek. Elevation ca. 686-738 feet. Loam and
humus over dolomite, with talus, ridge.
Mesic upland forest on east-facing slopes; with Acer
negundo, A. saccharum, Arisaema triph^llum, Carex
spp., Comus alternifolia, Fraxinus quadrangulata,
Juglans nigra, Parthenocissus, Quercus muhlenbergii,
Q. rubra, Ribes missouriense, Solidago flexicaulis,
Staphylea, Tilia, Ulmus americana. Occasional fern in
colonies on mesic shaded slopes; stipes straw-color.
