Calamusjgodefmyi Beccaa V'fwnV'rt 11 £ may Stems clustered, growing on river margins, 10 m long, 2 cm diameter. Sheaths with dense, green, horizontal, broadly triangular spines with deflexed margins; flagella present; ocreas very short, soon falling; petioles 6 cm long; rachises 1.2 m long; pinnae 38-46 per side of rachis, with long, straight spinules adaxially and spinules abaxially, proximalmost pinnae more or less swept back across the sheath. Infructescences 3 m long; fruits white. Stems used by local (older) people to make baskets. A.
