NEW YORK BOTANICAL. GARDEN ”03359985 POMONA COLLEGE HERBARIUM Oenothera plants lm. tall, spreading; stems red angled, shining, hirsute, no red pap- illae; leaf-veins mostly green; hypan- thium and sepals green, glandular; se- pal-tips connivent; petals 24x24mm., clear yellow, somewhat orange in age; bracts spreading, deciduous; stigma green, lobes erect or divergent; cap- sule short, thick, lcm.x5-6mm., shin- ing, with entire valves. Grown at Claremont, Calif, from 1935 seed of Munz 13517 from Mt. Mitchell, North Carolina. Coll. by P.A. Munz no. 14225 July 24/36.
