det. M. Nee, 2007
Wisconsin, Richland Co., along Dog Hollow Road, narrow
1valley with deciduous woods on slopes and old field in
narrow, flatter part in bottom.

43°23’46”N, 90°17’23”W. alt. 300 m.
Apparently a prairie establishment, looking like an old field
with much Zizia aurea, except for some of the species. With
Silphium perfoliatum which would be unlikely but possible
in this habitat. The other species of Silphium {S.
terebinthinaceum and S. laciniatum) are undoubtedly
planted.
This species otherwise only known as a very rare native on
Wisconsin River bluffs in the southern edge of Richland
County and it would be exceedingly unlikely to be found
naturally in this habitat.
