COLLETON COUNTY: Perianth scales tend to have a pair of
more or less obvious fenestrations, often open/”hollow”, the scales
themselves apically cuspidate, the cusp inwardly retrorse; fairly
abundant in clumps on wet sand, on margins of berm/ditch lines,
with Xyris jupicai, X. fimbriata, Hypericum cistifolium, Eleocharis
baldwinii, Lachnocaulon anceps, Ludwigia pilosa, Rhynchospora
gracilenta, S edge of clear-cut savanna land immediately S of
small, isolated wetland, N side of “C” Road, 0.8 mi E of Sec Hwy
193, W side of 1-95 and 3 mi NW of Hendersonville; SSW of
Walterboro; MeadWestvaco forest land; 32.8269°N, 80.7603°W-
Black Creek 7.5' topo. Elev. 66'.
