Prov. Guanacaste: Along road to Reserva Santa Elena at
junction with Rio Negro, ca. 1km from reserve entrance.
Elev. 1520m. Hemiepiphytic shrub attached to host ca. 2m
from ground, ca. 5cm dia. Floral bracts mostly red;
hypanthium green to red; calyx rupturing irregularly into 3-4
lobes, green to red; petals white, some pink-tinged
marginally, edible; filaments pink, declined to a 3/4 ring
above the style, anthers yellow; style sigmoid, cream.
