Milton; S side of Rt. 1-80 (exit 29). Tiadaghton State
Forest, Appalachian Mountains. Near Mile Run (stream).
Elev. 1020 ft. Acid loam, humus, peat at margin of
stream; rocky terrain. Appalachian Mountains.
Wet rocky upland montane forest, Liriodendron, Acer,
Tsuga, Kalmia, Rhododendron maximum. Flowers white
with pale pink tint, especially at margins, and green to
yellow-green spots on upper petals; visited by
bumblebees. Pedicels very sticky. Evergreen shrub 4 m
tall.
