Island Railroad tracks, near the old truck path. 40°50'15.81"N,
73°26'22.89"W; 54m elevation.
Tree to 7.6 m. Base of trunk with vertical black stripes; bark further up
trunk chalky white with buff and black stripes. Growing in a brushy 21
year old old-field with Prunus serótina, Betula pendula, Juniperus
virginiana, Lonicera japónica, Cornus florida, Pinus strobus and
Alliaria petiolata.
