On steep rocky north and south slopes. Abundant.

Description
Corolla bright yellow, individuals much shorter than M. leucophilla: 5.5-1.3 inches tall, multiple flowers open at once, flowers opened at 5:30 pm, basal rosettes present. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
