Cultivated shrub 1.5 m. tall. Inflorescences profuse, with
large bunches of nodding, showy flowers; corolla bright
deep reddish; calyx a similar but darker and duller red. A
few immature reddish fruits, but surely no pollinators for
this species present here at this time.
