This page servers as part of our ongoing effort to centralize all published information relating to the lichen biota of the Ozark Ecoregion. We have begun to compile a bibliography of the relevant literature, classifying each reference as either taxonomic or floristic. Click on the appropriate heading to obtain a list of references. When possible a further link is available to access a pdf of article.

Keys

One of the most significant contributions that resulted from our Ozark research was a comprehensive identification guide that includes keys, preliminary taxonomic treatments, and notes on distribution/ecology for the species and genera that are covered. This treatment was distributed to the participants of the 14th Tuckerman Lichen Workshop that was held at Eureka Springs, Arkansas in October, 2005.

Taxonomic Works

These publications treat aspects of the taxonomy and systematics of Ozark lichens. When available we have provided a link to a pdf file of the publication.

Floristic Works

These publications detail the floristics of the Ozark lichen biota. Most of these publications are checklists, short notes, or larger works that peripherally treat and report species from the Ozarks. The most comprehensive information on the lichen floristics of the Ozarks can either be found in the first section above or by searching the specimen records in the Virtual Herbarium.
