The long-term goal of this project is to make family, generic, and species pages for the flowering plants of French Guiana available over the Internet. On the species pages, information about the accepted names, synonyms, morphology, common names, distribution, phenology, pollination, dispersal, uses, field characters, and taxonomic problems are provided. In addition, images of the species are attached to the pages. So far, only taxa of Lecythidaceae have been treated and they are in greater detail than is normally provided in a flora because the pages are generated directly from the Lecythidaceae Pages which is an electronic monograph of the Neotropical taxa of the family.
