Leaves lance-elliptic, (1-)2-3.5 x (0.7-)1-1.5 cm, basally obtuse to rounded, apically acute or obtuse, sometimes short-apiculate, ciliate, minutely puberulent along midrib above; 3-5-plinerved from near base, midrib and inner pair of lateral nerves conspicuous, impressed above and raised beneath, outer pair of lateral nerves and reticulate veinlets raised above and obscure beneath; petioles subterete, slightly channeled adaxially, puberulent, 2-2.5 mm long and ca. 1 mm diam. Inflorescence ca. 6-flowered, encircled at base by numerous, subcoriaceous, ovate to oblong, ciliate bracts to 16 mm long; rachis subterete, bluntly angled, glabrous or minutely puberulent, to 1 cm long and 0.8 mm diam.; floral bracts oblong, oblanceolate, ca. 20 x 7 mm, apex rounded and shallowly emarginate, glabrous, dark violet when fresh (fide label data); pedicels terete, swollen distally, glabrous, 5-6(-8) mm long and 0.8(-1.4 distally) mm diam., provided at distal tip with subspherical to angular gland to 0.2 mm diam. or 0.3 mm long; bracteoles basal, oblong, 0.7 mm long, glabrous, margins apparently glandular-callose through distal 2/3. Flowers: calyx glabrous or hypanthium basally puberulent, 3.2 mm long; hypanthium cylindric, weakly 5-ribbed, 1.5 mm long, basally narrowly apophysate; limb erect to spreading, 1.7 mm long; lobes triangular, acute, ca. 1 mm long, slightly connivent after anthesis, each margin provided with an oblong somewhat crescent-shaped, callose gland, these contiguous or separate at lobe tip; sinuses broadly rounded to nearly flat; corolla cylindric, distal half moderately or densely puberuletnt to short-pilose, ca. 15 mm long, light violet when fresh (fide label data), lobes obtuse; stamens (taken from flower not quite in anthesis and corolla 14 mm long) 12.7-13 mm long; filaments slightly coherent at base, ciliate, alternately 1-2 mm and 3.2-3.5 mm long; anthers alternately 12.4-13 mm and 11 mm long; thecae 3.5-4 mm long; style 13.5 mm long.
