Description:

See previous dark colored "Porphyrellus" from Fraser (Feb 2009). This solitary specimen has some violaceus in stipe and cap has fine areolate, appressed squamules. Tubes stain blue then red then black. Flesh stains pale blue-green, then some pale reddish, otherwise white fleshed. Stipe very finely scurfy. Cyanogranules (+) present in p-pellis; hyphae palisadal and constricted, typically blue green in alkali, sometimes with pale brown walls or with pale brown fine encrustations; subpellis hyaline. St-pellis with deep blue green hyphae, forming clusters of short-clavate caulocystidia with scattered cyanogranules (+), sometimes with pale brown uniform content, 33–45 × 16–31 µm; subpellis hyaline.
Habitat:

Sclerophyll. Eucalyptus, Syncarpia, Leptospermum. Solitary. In sand.
