Description:

Pileus 2-5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, tomentose becoming finely areolate with age, castaneus to cinnamon brown, with NH4 a dark orange. Flesh white to pale yellow, unchanging, changing to pale blue over tubes with NH4, with mild odor and taste. Hymenophore tubulose, depressed around stipe, yellowish white when young, dull greenish yellow then greensih yellow, unchanging when exposed, with pores concolorous, not staining when bruised. Stipe 4-6.5 cm long, 4-9 mm broad, subclavate and pinched at base (ventricose?), dry, pruinose to pruinose-streaked, castaneous, subridged, with white ground color, white at base; interior solid, becoming hollow near the base, white, unchanging. N.B. This is the taxon reminiscent of a Gyroporus in color, pileus surface, but stipe and hymenophore are different.
Habitat:

Montane cloud forest. Quercus seemannii & Q. copeyensis. Gregarious. On soil.
