Description:

Pileus 2-3.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, subtomentose to tomentose, mustard brown to cocoa brown (5E6-5-4 to 6E6-5-4), with NH4 an orange brown. Flesh pale yellow, bluing very slightly in some, up to 1 cm thick, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnate to subdecurrent, xerocomoid, yellow and unchanging, up to 6 mm long, with pores, elongate, up to 1 mm broad, concolorous (3A7-6), unchanging. Stipe 2.5-4 cm long, 4-10 mm thick, ±equal to tapering below, dry, cocnolorus with tubes at apex, reddish brown to orangish to yellowish brown below, the demarkation between the yellow apex and the reddish brown colors below often very marked, pruinose to heavily pruinose, with white basal mycelium, with interior as in pileus.
Habitat:

Montane cloud forest. Quercus copeyensis, Q. seemannii, & Q. rapurahuensis. Gregarious. On soil.
