    Taxonomic Coverage: Chlorophyta, Rhodophyta, Phaeophyceae

    Geography: Mediterranean Sea, mainly Italian coasts. Occasional samples from other areas.

  • Notes

    The herbarium includes exsiccata of macroalgae, mainly seaweeds collected in the Mediterranean. Most specimens are linked with formalin and/or silica preserved and DNA subsamples. Related information, including collection data (georeferenced), taxonomy, sequence accessions submitted in public databases, are filed and available on request. The main purpose of the herbarium is to create a referenced collection linked to the research activity of the Phylogenetic Laboratory of the Department. DNA data are submitted to the BOLD Systems.
