    Some specimens have been digitized, especially types, and records available in Virtual Herbaria: http://herbarium.univie.ac.at/database/search.php. Loan requests for type specimens must state exact details about place of publication, synonyms, type-locality, etc. Specimens are not arranged in geographical order, so general requests such as \\\"all species of genus X from South America\\\" cannot be accepted. Part of the phanerogam collection was destroyed by war accidents, corresponding to numbers 1-100, 452-1388, 1855-2828 of Dalla Torre & Harms, Genera Siphonogamarum (see Taxon 1: 29). Orchidaceae of H. G. L. Reichenbach and Juncaceae of F. G. T. Buchenau are not sent on loan. Attached to W are collections of fruits, seeds, and wood samples. About 180 000 botanical drawings and paintings (e.g., those of F. L. Bauer, N. J. and J. F. von Jacquin, C. A. A. Huegel, H. W. Schott, and H. G. Reichenbach) and botanical manuscripts and correspondence (e.g., letters to N. J. von Jacquin, S. L. Endlicher, H. G. L. and H. G. Reichenbach, and H. Lojka) are located in the Archives at the moment.
