Updated Mar 2017 (general update). Average accession rates are about 1,000 specimens per year. PPI exchanges duplicates with some academic institutions around the world and focuses on acquiring plants from East Asia (especially mainland China and Japan). In addition to various domestic universities and botanical research institutions, current targets for such exchanges also encompass major universities, herbaria, museums and botanical gardens in Asian countries. PPI has Southern Taiwan vascular plants available for exchange. PPI specimens are made with the utmost care, and each specimen label contains a complete set of information. PPI preserves 21 new species, 2 new record family, 21 new record genus, 73 new record species, 4 new combination, 31 corrections. Especially, there are 23 Holotypes preserved in PPI.
