A stamen in which the filament is attached to the anther above the base of the anther.

Notes
This type of anther attachment allows the anther to move when it is touched by a pollinator which may facilitate the transfer of pollen from the anther to a potential pollinator. Versatile anthers are common in wind pollinated plants such as grasses.
